WELCOME TO THE CHRISTOPHER PLACE TEAM PAGE!
Back on My Feet has a team associated with the Christopher Place Employment Academy, which is, according to its website, "an intensive residential program that provides education and training as well as emotional, spiritual, and addiction recovery support to formerly homeless men. We invite the participants to engage in a process of change that moves them from homelessness to permanent stable living, trains them to obtain employment, and empowers them to live a life free of drugs and alcohol."
The facility is housed at the Our Daily Bread Employment Center, which is managed by the Catholic Charities of Baltimore.

TEAM LEADER: SADIE SMITH
Sadie joined Back on My Feet Baltimore in April 2010 after hearing about the program through some friends. She had run a few shorter races prior to joining, but was just beginning to embrace running as part of her workout routine. On that cold April morning, it was love at first run and she hasn’t stopped since. Although she doesn’t run far or fast, she likes to think she helps the new res members get started and then gets to be so proud when she realizes months later that they are way quicker than they used to be. She served as non-res coordinator for a bit and came on as TL in May 2011.
Sadie was naturally drawn to Back on My Feet since she studied social work and has worked predominately with those people experiencing homelessness and/or addiction. Sadie is currently the Director of Special Initiatives at Baltimore HealthCare Access, Inc. (BHCA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to necessary health care and related services to Baltimore City residents.
“Our team at Christopher’s Place has become my second family. Our team has a lot of non-res transplants who, by chance, all happened to decide 5:30am runs were a good idea. We all really enjoy each other and look forward to each person’s next accomplishment. I’m so lucky to be a part of it.”
