American Rescue Workers
Updated: August 11, 2011
Back on My Feet has a team at the Federal Hill American Rescue Workers facility. The team started in March 2010.
American Rescue Workers began in 1884, as a National Religious Charitable Organization. Our leadership consists of officers, most of whom are ministers. Our soldiers are the church laity--Christian brothers and sisters who volunteer their time and service to helping the needy. We are motivated by God's love to meet the spiritual and material needs of all persons, without regard to race, color, creed, sex or age.

TEAM LEADER CARRIE DANIELS
Carrie Daniels grew up in the middle of the Great Lake State known as Michigan, where she rivaled the local library with her book collection. When she transplanted to Baltimore in 2002, she had no idea she would find her second love: Charm City. She started her search for fitness soon after, trying almost anything to stay active. Not the most athletic person, it was a surprise to everyone when Carrie announced, “I LOVE RUNNING!” She heard about Back on My Feet from a few of her co-workers a year later and she knew she had finally found her niche. As the Team Leader for American Rescue Workers (ARW), she wakes up every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings with a smile on her face, excited to embrace new adventures the day may bring. Her soul is satisfied with the company of like-hearted people in her circle.
Still a beginner runner herself, her personal running view is to relax, enjoy your run. Run smarter, not harder; you’ll still get there. She loves running with her team mates, listening to them and learning about what makes them who they are. She is always ready to offer words of encouragement or advise or to just listen quietly. Her first race was the Baltimore Women’s Classic 5k and since then, has team ran in many other 5k’s. She can’t wait for her first long race, the Baltimore 10 miler, and knows she will overcome anything else that comes her way.
