About This Event
If you are looking for a reasonably priced spring half. If you are looking for a family friendly race. If you are looking for a fantastic first-timers half. If you are looking for an out an back race full of runners who want to support YOU in getting to the finish line and reaching your goals, you have come to the right place! 2016 is complete, but join us for our annual race in 2017!
Flat crushed gravel rail trail through beaitiful Balitmore County, one of the best first timere half marathons in the area! Ranked by Active.com in 2014 as One of the Nations Top 10 Scenic Spring Races, the Oldfields Half Marathon, Relay & Kids K is a 13.1 mile race with a 3-leg relay component (3.5 miles, 6.1 miles and 3.5 miles). All proceeds from the race support our the Back on My Feet Baltimore Chapter.
The race began as the desire of our beloved past Program Director Nikia Williams to run her very first half-marathon and turned into the creation of a race for her teammates and her Baltimore chapter to run alongside her. Nikia has since gone on to crush two marathons, but the half marathon remains a symbol of the pride and unity among the Back on My Feet Baltimore family.
Can't remember how much fun you had last year? Here are some pictures to jog your memory!
Here's what people have said about our Half Marathon, Relay and Kids K:
Check out 2016 Photos! Registration
"I ran the race last year and it was fantastic. Super people and everyone did such a nice job. I am delighted that I will be able to participate again. Thanks, Wendy"
"It was a great event and your crew was so fantastic with everything! I personally could not have picked a better first half marathon! Thank you for the experience." ~Alison J., First Time Half-Marathoner
“Just wanted to thank you for all you did to make Saturday so wonderful. I'm still smiling at the thought of it. My very best friend is a new runner who participated on a relay team - she was so nervous at the start, but spent the whole rest of the weekend talking about how much fun she had, how warm and kind everyone was, and how she's so excited to keep running. Kind of can't wait 'til next year. Thanks again, Rebecca”
Well, it's not free, but it is surely one of the cheapest races in town! Please note that the cost of your race entry is in no way proportional to the amount of fun you'll have running this race. If that were the case, well, this race would cost you a small fortune! All proceeds from the race support our Back on My Feet program, and the BoMF Members whom you will be running alongside. Online registration will open again in 2017.

Chief parking attendant is Sean. Be sure to say hi. Sean and his fellow parking volunteers from the Towson Track Club will all be wearing ties and will be helping to direct you around the campus. Sean will have a few maps on him to direct people to the Monkton Relay exchange. Please keep in mind that Glencoe Rd. will be CLOSED COMPLETELY from 8:15 - 8:45am for the race start. We'd recommend parking BEFORE then, or you'll find yourself parked on Glencoe Rd. watching the race go by. It will reopen from 8:45 - 11:45 for one way traffic.
Course: Course will begin at Oldfields School and travel .63 miles along Glencoe Rd to where it intersects with the NCR trail. Runners will head NORTH on the trail towards Monkton and will run 5.92 miles out, turn around and come back. Check out our 2016 course map! You'll start the race with a nice, steady downhill the first .63 mile, a flat majority of the race and a nice steady uphill .63 mile on the return trip to the finish line.
Furry running companions and strollers are allowed – we want the whole family to join! We just ask that you be mindful of two way traffic as well as other non-racers out on the trail.
Learn more about the history surrounding the places you'll be running, here.
*THIS COURSE IS NOT USATF certified but it is an official appoximation as deemed by Race Committee member Albert Reed's Garmin.

Get your mind out of the gutter) Best Dressed, Best Baton (All runners must RUN the relay, wheels and/or motorized vehicles are not acceptable batons. Baton must arrive at the same time as the runner. Throwing the baton is not an acceptable way to signal the next leg of your relay team, or indicate you have finished the race.) No cash prizes, but more than just a high-five.
Timing: Timing will be performed by the dextrous hands of our race committee with very gracous help from the Baltimore Road Runners Club (Thank You!) and Dan Miranda's affinity for Microsoft Excel. By completing your registration, you waive the right to gripe over the hand-timed margin of error.
Runner's Premium: Who needs t-shirts? More running gear? You're all runners! You've got enough of that! Add the 2016 re-usable bag to your collection. Do you have all 5 colors?
Packet Pick-up: The Maryland Athletic Club (MAC) will be hosting packet pick-up for your convenience prior to race day. Packets can be picked up between 5pm and 8pm at the MAC Timonium at 110 W. Timonium Rd, Timonium, MD 21093 on Wednesday, March 30th and between 5pm and 8pm at the MAC in Harbor East at 655 S. President St. #200, Baltimore, MD 21202 on Thursday, March 31st. There will also be race day pick-up, but would strongly encourage picking up packets early if you are able! Someone may come and pick-up your packet for you. Don't forget to bring your old shoes to donate!
Shoebox Recycling: Don't forget to bring your old shoes! We'll be happy to collect any used shoes (running, dress or otherwise! Just no boots or flip flops). Through our Shoebox Recycling program, your shoe donation translates into support for our Back on My Feet Baltimore team. We'll have boxes at both packet pick-ups and on race day.
Post Race Party: We are excited to announce that Baltimore Tea & Coffee will be back for our post-race party with hot coffee and hot chocolate for your post-run warm-up! In commemoration of National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day, Maier's will be hosting a PB&J table. We will also have fruit by Giant Food, Panera bagels & goodies, UTZ chips, gatorade and water on-hand to refuel after the big race.
K9's: In honor of our favorite team pups like Essie & Adler, dogs are welcome to join the race. They do not need a separate bib. They must be on a leash as per NCR policy. We just ask that owners be mindful of fellow runners as well as two way traffic on the trail.
Training: Baltimore BoMF teams run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 5:30am, as well as Saturdays at 7am. They have already begun a training plan for both the half-marathon and relay distances. Visit our Run With Us page to register for an orientation and more details on how to join.
